Here is me, Chris and Val at the Ex last summer. It was taken by a nice young lady who was promoting a technical college. The digital camera that she used is of very high quality as you can see.
Anyways, the day as I can remember was quite enjoyable. We worried that it would rain, but it didn't. The first thing we did once we were in was head straight to the games. It was a water pistol game I believe and who would be the victor? None other than me... And so began the bitter rivalry that had endured since the last time Chris and I were at the Ex, trying to win the most prizes.
Last year I had amounted a superior collection of stuffed paraphenelia, would this year be the same?
Well, my first prize lead did not last too long as Chris picked up a prize himself in another water game, quickly tying us up. (I believe that is the prize Val is holding in the picture). Next up was the bowling ball game. The object of the game is to land the ball in the valley, push to hard it goes back to where it started, don't push hard enough it doesn't make it over the hill. This event went back and forth several times as we each won and traded up the prize.
The competition was fierce, even Val got into it by winning a whack-a-mole game. A game that neither Chris nor I were too adept at. I guess Val has a lot of aggression she needs to let loose at times. Another challenge that seemed to stump us was the rollerball racing game, I can never win yet I still have to play... the shame.
Nonetheless, near the end of the day Chris was up by one prize, we had once again broke even on the bowling game and had given up, having run out of quarters and were too ashamed to ask for more... I feared that all was lost, that I would not be able to reclaim the proud title of best in midway gaming. Half-heartedly I entered one more water gun event, declaring that it would be the last of the day. This event was crowded. Filled up to be exact, with the top prize up for grabs. Chris and I took our positions and the bell went. My focus was keen and my aim was sharp. I didn't need to look up at my marker's position because once I heard the bell to announce the winner I knew that winner was me. Second time all star midway gamer! (Think of an arena full of people chanting my name).
We went on a few rides that day too, but I was too gutless to go on any rides that Chris wanted to try out.
