This year my second year Industrial Design class decided to enter the Winterlude's annual amateur snow sculpture competition. This would be a group effort by a class of over 30 to create a prize winning sculpture... first prize that is. Of course, nothing ever goes as planned. After a false start due to the warm weather conditions, the competition was postponed for a week in hopes of a more chilly climate. This played havoc with our schedule since it would be the week where 2 assignments and an essay would be due for everyone. That being the case, the sculpture was still completed. (Working 4 out of a possible 9 days of course, the first 2 days and the last 2 days of competition). This was considered even more of a triumph considering the actual number of people working on the project was 4 out of the 30 with two or three helping out for a few hours. Nonetheless, despite all these set-backs it was done, and it was a winner... well second prize anyways... curse St. Pat's...
